Ephesians 1:3 NKJV ~
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ".
In 2018, in my quest to begin my health and exercise journey, I decided to try Crossfit. This was a huge leap of faith for me because I had never considered myself to be strong or flexible. On the first day, they do what is called a foundational class to test your mobility just to get a measure of where you are at. Needless to say, at the end of my test, my trainer said, "This is going to be a loooonng road". Lol!!!
But how many of us know that our body is made up of muscles and if we train them, over time they become stronger and more mobile. This is exactly what happened with me and within a year I became one of the strongest members in my class. My trainer was so proud that she wanted to do a story on me as she could not get over my quick growth. You see my body already had all I needed but my body needed training.
What is my point you may ask? Well it's the same thing in the realm of the spirit. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 9:26, "I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified." Many of us disqualify ourselves in our minds before we have even begun training because we don't think we can do this Christian walk thing or this Kingdom thing.
Here is what Zechariah 4:6 says: "Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts." Our trainer is the Holy Spirit and we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us and we have the guarantee, that if we follow the instructions of our trainer, we will see the results and He will cause us to leap over walls and run through troops.
Just as training my muscles; begining with light weights and gradually increasing the weight produced strength and mobility in my body, so too we are trained spiritually through trails, tests and tribulations as is said in 1 Peter 1:6-9 and when we come out we shall be as pure gold spiritually. What obstacle, hurdle or mountain do you need to leap over today? I want to encourage you to put on the whole armour of God, submit to your trainer, PUSH through and leap over today!!!
Let us pray
Father, I thank you that you sent us your precious gift, Jesus Christ to shed His blood on the cross for our sins. I thank you God that because He finished the work on the cross, we can now receive the gift of the precious Holy Spirit, our counselor, our comforter and our friend. I pray that we will submit to His training and to His leading. As He guides us, may we be strengthened in our spirit man as we take a firm decision to leap over today. In Jesus name. Amen!!!
